A parade brings the community together and is a great way to bring people to your downtown area. This session looks at what it takes to stage a parade, from the planning process to step-off!

  • Leadership Development: Leadership and management are two common terms in any organization, but do we really understand their similarities and differences? Additionally, successful leadership development programs can build continuity in our organizations and enhance how we build effective leadership now and in the future. This session will explore the importance of understanding leadership within our organizations and how to build strategic leadership training into everything we do.

Ira Rosen, Ira Rosen LLC Festival & Event Consulting President & CEO

  • Overview: This session will go in-depth on best practices for event layout design and booth placements by comparing maps of popular California street festivals, park-based events, tented festivals, 5k start/finish line areas, and more.

    Topics discussed include:

    ● How to optimize a layout for foot traffic and traps to avoid

    ● Identifying premiere sponsor placements to maximize partnership revenue

    ● Site mapping best practices for attendees and partners

    ● Using a site plan to increase sponsor and vendor revenue

    Michael Bleau, Event Hub CEO

  • Event Risk Management: Risk management should be a central part of any event’s planning cycle – it’s both an operational and “duty of care” requirement. What is it? It is a process whereby the event planning team methodically addresses the risks associated with their activities, with the goal of treating or mitigating those risks which may have an adverse impact (financial, image, reputation, etc.) on the event if the risk materializes This session will offer some practical suggestions about how to build and enhance your risk management strategies.

Ira Rosen - Ira Rosen Festival & Event Consulting

  • With how the world has changed and the uncertainty of where harm can happen, we have to start evolving on how we look at security management and planning.
